Subject Selection Handbooks
Year 7 and 8 students are introduced to a variety of taster electives from the Arts and Technologies departments. In addition, students will study mandatory subjects such as Languages, Health and Physical Education, along with the core subjects (MESH): Mathematics, English, Science, and Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS).
In Year 8, students will select four electives to pursue in Year 9. They will complete two electives per semester and follow the same structure in Year 10.
Achievement of the WACE acknowledges the end of compulsory schooling and that the student has achieved or exceeded the minimum standards required in an educational program to the sufficient breadth and depth. Students are required to achieve 14 C grades (or equivalents, see below) in Year 11 and Year 12, including at least six C grades in Year 12 units (or equivalents).
Unit equivalence can be obtained through Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs and/or endorsed programs.
