Learning about the past, the present and preparing you for the future
The world in which we live in is constantly changing. It is affected by how we behave and interact in social, cultural, environmental, economic and political contexts.
Humanities and Social Sciences teach students about our world from a local and global perspective. Understanding the history and processes that have shaped the way we live today, including the challenges we face now and into the future.
Our Aim
We recognise the importance of providing students with the skills and knowledge to be active global citizens. Through studying Humanities and Social Sciences, students will develop the ability to question, think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively, make decisions and adapt to change.
Programs We Offer
Humanities subjects are compulsory for all students in Years 7-10. Four key streams are introduced to students:
- History
- Geography
- Civics and Citizenship
- Economics and Business
Our senior pathway gives students the opportunity to further extend their knowledge of the subjects taught in lower school with a choice of Career Education, Economics, Geography, History, Politics and Law.
