From June 14-16, 2024, 64 students from Morley Leos Club, accompanied by 8 staff members, embarked on a transformative journey to Narrogin. The camp aimed to foster personal development and community service among our students.
The trip began with a leadership and community service workshop at the Narrogin Shire’s board room. Students then participated enthusiastically in community service activities at the Gnarogin Community Garden and the Divine You Centre, serving the homeless and underserved.
Additionally, our students entertained residents at local retirement villages with performances, spreading joy and companionship. They also learned about farming techniques and shearing in workshops that offered insights into the region’s agricultural practices.
Throughout the camp, students enhanced their public speaking, debating, and leadership skills through tailored workshops, contributing to their educational and personal growth.
Our students represented Morley SHS and Leos Club with exceptional conduct and dedication, earning praise from Narrogin Shire, workshop facilitators, and community volunteers for their manners, discipline, empathy, and work ethic.
Special thanks go to teachers Ms I Prameswari, Ms Jutte, Mr Rickert O’Shea, Mr Bruce, Ms Hyde, Ms Webb, Ms Pritchard, Ms Simeon, Ms Hinscliff, and Ms Kora for their invaluable support. We also extend heartfelt appreciation to all involved, including parents, whose support was crucial to the camp’s success. The experiences gained will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on our students, nurturing their growth as responsible and compassionate individuals.
