Course Outline

The General Music course encourages students to explore a range of musical experiences which develop their music skills and understanding as well as their musical creativity. The course consists of a written component incorporating aural and theory elements as well as composition and arranging skills. Included is the investigation and analysis of an array of musical styles. The practical component of this course allows students to select an instrument or voice for performance, providing opportunity for further creative expression. Students are required to be involved in one of the extra-curricular ensembles (before or after school) in consultation with the Music Co-ordinator.
